The family-run Dorigati estate is the creator of great oenological expressions in Trentino, the result of the encounter between tradition and innovation. The foundation of the winery dates back to far-off 1852, the year in which Luigi Dorigati began producing wine in Mezzacorona, a municipality located a few kilometres north of Trento in the Piana Rotaliana. In 1955, the estate was enlarged to accommodate the increase in the volume of wine produced, while in 1986 the Trento DOC 'Methius' was launched, which soon became a landmark for the winery, kick-starting the Dorigati sparkling wine adventure. Today it is Paolo and Michele, the fifth oenological generation of the Dorigati family, who continue the important winemaking path traced by their ancestors.

The vineyards owned by the Dorigati winery are rooted on different soil types, both of fluvial and glacial origin, which differ mainly in the thickness of the silty layer and the height of the water table. On these soils, which are particularly rich in mineral substances, the estate grows Teroldego, Lagrein, Cabernet Sauvignon, Rebo, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vines, which are cultivated exclusively using the traditional Trentino pergola system. Sustainability represents an important value for the winery, which since 1990 has adopted the Trentino viticulture "Protocol of Understanding" based on the rational application of integrated pest management, an agronomic conduction aimed at minimising the use of phytosanitary treatments and thus reducing the environmental impact. In addition, alternative practices are used such as the technique of sexual confusion, aimed at drastically reducing pest populations without the use of chemicals. In the cellar, simple practices that respect the raw material are adopted, while the Metodo Classico is developed to enhance the freshness and aromatic quality of the final product.

The Dorigati winery's interpretations are divided into the 'Classici', 'Selezioni', Trento DOC and 'Luigi' lines, a Teroldego Rotaliano Riserva dedicated to the founder. The quantity of the two Metodo Classico sparkling wines, 'Methius' and 'Om de Fer', Trento DOC of commendable refinement and complexity, is remarkable.
