The family Moncuit resides for more than a century in Mesnil sur Oger, in the heart of the Cote des Blancs. In the 1889, Pierre Moncuit bought 19 hectares of vineyards and, convinced of the exceptional quality of the terroir, began producing Champagne, backed by the support and collaboration of his wife Odile Delos. In 1928 comes the first cuvée of Chardonnay produced by Robert, grandson of Pierre, which continues with passion and determination the work started by his grandfather. From 1977 Nicole Moncuit, passionate wine making as much of the cultivation of the vine, took over the technical direction of the House while the business is followed by the brother Yves Moncuit. Times have changed, but the philosophy is always the same: great respect for the land, few interventions both in the vineyard and in the cellar following traditional methods, without shortcuts, in order to allow nature to give the best into the wine. The calcareous soil and the microclimate of Mesnil are the best allies of Pierre Amillet to produce high-quality Champagne, where the fruit flavors are interwoven beautifully with minerality and freshness.
