FLEURIE 'Ô JOIE' LES VINS DE VICKY 2018 DESCRIPTION

The Fleurie "Ô Joie" Les Vins de Vicky Château des Moriers is a young and carefree interpretation of the Beaujolais wine tradition. It is a red wine made from the Gamay grape variety, a spontaneous cross between Pinot and Gouais Blanc, which in these lands has found the ideal conditions to express itself at excellent levels. The Fleurie area, in particular, yields particularly refined wines thanks to a floral profile that is a true hallmark of this prized terroir. Its delicacy and genuine, immediate character make it a perfect bottle to enjoy over an informal dinner with friends.

"Ô Joie" Fleurie Les Vins de Vicky sees the light on the Château des Moriers estate, a historic 9-hectare property with vineyards concentrated in two particularly prestigious areas of the Beaujolais region: Fleurie and Moulin-à-Vent. Respectful of the terroir and following the best practices of environmental sustainability, the vineyards are farmed organically, using only sulphur and copper. The soils are poor and well-drained, originating from the disintegration of pink granite rocks. Thanks to a particularly mild climate, the Gamay vines ripen grapes of excellent quality. Vinification takes place using the process of whole cluster carbonic maceration, according to typical local customs, with the aim of enhancing the fruity aromas of the grapes. The wine is matured for several months in steel tanks, except for a small part (20%) that matures in 400-litre used French oak barrels.

The Fleurie wine "Ô Joie" Les Vins de Vicky from Château des Moriers represents the young and fragrant face of the fine Fleurie terroir and its main grape variety: Gamay. In the glass, it is a beautiful, bright and lively ruby red. The olfactory profile seduces with very intense fruity aromas reminiscent of morello cherry, redcurrant, ripe strawberries, raspberry, floral hints of iris and violet, notes of aromatic herbs and delicate spicy sensations. On the palate, it is striking for its limpid fruity exuberance, its ripe and juicy aromas and its refined and silky tannins, which accompany the wine towards a fresh finish with good taste persistence.
