PULIGNY MONTRACHET LOUIS LATOUR 2021 DESCRIPTION

The French white Puligny Montrachet from Louis Latour winery is the ideal bottle to approach the great Chardonnays from Burgundy. Indeed, this is a really well-made product, in which the medium ageing in wood does not cover up the varietal's characteristics but rather helps to enhance its personality and character. It is an identity label in which the ancient traditions of the terroir blend with the know-how of the winery, one of the most historic in all of Burgundy, resulting in an authentic sip.

This Puligny Montrachet is made from the queen grape of Burgundy, Chardonnay. This variety is grown by the Louis Latour winery within vineyards characterized by a subsoil composed mainly of gravel and limestone, in which vines whose average age is around 30 years grow. Once selected during manual harvesting, the must ferment in oak barrels, where malolactic fermentation also takes place. This is followed by the ageing phase, in barriques, 15% new, for a period ranging from 8 to 10 months, at the end of which the wine is ready to be bottled.

The white wine Puligny Montrachet signed by Louis Latour, presents itself, to the eye, with a light and lightly loaded colour, recalling the shade of straw. The nose is dominated by subtle, elegant aromas and notes that develop mainly around fruity scents, presenting different facets. On the palate, it is light-bodied and drinkable, with a perfectly balanced mouthfeel, in which there is a slight boisé taste. An elegant and harmonious bottle, with which the winery interprets, in a classic and traditional manner, one of the most important appellations of the entire Burgundian terroir.
