WHISKY SINGLE MALT SMOKEHEAD DESCRIPTION

Smokehead Whisky is a Single Malt that perfectly reflects the more typical character of spirits produced in the lands of the Inner Hebrides. It is a Whisky particularly suited to satisfy the taste of enthusiasts, who love the peaty accents and intense smokiness typical of Islay Island production. It is an uncompromising label with a strong personality, vigorously expressing citrus and ginger aromas wrapped in a blanket of peat, exuding smoky sensations combined with iodine, marine and brackish puffs.

Single Malt Smokehead is a whiskey marketed by Ian Macleod Distillers, a distillery founded in 1933 in Broxburn. The company operates several small distilleries and various brands. The Smokehead brand was created in 2006 and quickly established itself among Islay's most interesting Single Malt Scotch Whiskies, although no one actually knows the name of the distillery that actually produces it. The modern, somewhat gloomy and aggressive label graphics betray a strong personality, which is expressed in intense, sharp and decisive flavours, in which peaty and smoky notes, spices and the marine breath of the Ocean wind prevail. These are Whiskies to be approached after having already taken the path of the "peat road" for those who love this kind of spirits without reservation. Without ifs and buts.

Smokehead Single Malt Whisky is an Ian Macleod Distillers distillate made from pure barley malt, following the oldest customs of the Island territory. To fuel the kilns, peat is used as fuel, which helps give the classic smoky aromas of the Islay style. Once the distillation process is complete, the whiskey matures for a minimum of six years in oak casks. In the glass, it has a deep golden yellow colour. The nose releases aromas of citrus, lime, ginger, spicy sensations, smoky and plum jam over a peaty and iodine undertone. The palate has a smooth entry, with sweet, ripe, almost honeyed fruit, which stretches with great flavour persistence toward a smoky, briny finish. Long and intense, it is a Whisky with a unique and inimitable character.
