Tenuta Magrini's Barbera d'Asti 'Millecolli' is an artisanal wine of great vivacity, produced by a very young Monferrato company. The nose has hints of red and black fruits, with intriguing hints of undergrowth on the finish. The palate is juicy and tasty, with soft tannins and a very fresh finish. It has a persistent finish with olfactory hints that invite new sips. Try it with cheese or meat, but it may surprise you when paired with fatty fish such as salmon
Tenuta Magrini's Barbera d'Asti 'Millecolli' represents agenuine and direct interpretation of the territory and the vine, produced through a sustainable and artisanal approach. Tenuta Magrini is located in Grazzano Badoglio, among the hills of Monferrato, an area recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2014 for the beauty of its landscapes and the historical and cultural importance of its vineyards. The undisputed ruler of the area is Barbera, an ancient black grape variety that was long undervalued but was finally valorised at the end of the 20th century, thanks to the stubbornness of some producers in the Asti area.
Tenuta Magrini's 'Millecolli' Barbera d'Asti is produced with pure Barbera grapes from 20-year-old vines. The vines stand on hilly land facing south, characterised by a calcareous-marly composition and an altitude of 350 metres above sea level. Agronomic management follows the principles of certified organic farming , while the grapes are harvested entirely by hand. Afterwards, the grapes are mellowed in stainless steel tanks, where alcoholic fermentation takes place thanks only to the intervention of indigenous yeasts in contact with the skins. Also in stainless steel, the maturation phase of a few months preceding bottling takes place, carried out without prior clarification and filtration and with very low doses of added sulphites.
The Barbera d'Asti Tenuta Magrini 'Millecolli' has an intense ruby red hue. The nose reveals intense notes of red fruits, such as cherry and currant, followed by hints of blackberry and violet and hints of undergrowth in the finish. In the mouth it reveals a decisive and juicy freshness, accompanied by an intense tannic texture that anticipates the fleshy finish.
