Lis Neris' Cabernet Sauvignon is configured as a remarkably accessible red wine produced in Friuli-Venezia Giulia within the province of Gorizia. This bottle is part of the 'Traditional Wines' line, expressions that reflect the estate's philosophy with simplicity and naturalness, made from grapes harvested in the youngest vineyards. In particular, for the Cabernet Sauvignon, low yields are maintained and pushed leafing is implemented to encourage optimal berries ripening. Over the years, the Lis Neris winery has established itself in the Friulian wine scene thanks to its exceptional interpretation of international grape varieties, both black and, above all, white.
Lis Neris Cabernet Sauvignon is made from only grapes of the blackberry variety of the same name of French origin, grown on a gravelly limestone plateau between the municipalities of San Lorenzo, Corona and Romans. The vines have an average age of 15 years and are raised following the integrated pest management protocol without using chemical herbicides. Harvesting is done by hand with careful selection of the clusters, and the ensuing alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, with 8-10 days of contact between the must and the skins, implementing regular délestage and taking care to separate the grape seeds. Next, the mass is placed in 225- and 500-litre oak barrels for maturation for 15 months.
Friulian Cabernet Sauvignon from the Lis Neris winery possesses a deep ruby red colour. The nose reveals aromas of red fruits and fresh flowers combined with pleasant, typically varietal herbaceous sensations. Round and flavorful on the palate, with an elegant smooth tannic texture that drives the lingering finish on the olfactory notes.
