CHAMBAVE MUSCAT ROSSET 2021 DESCRIPTION

Rosset's Chambave Muscat is a white wine from Valle d'Aosta with an irresistible aromatic character typical of the grape variety. Chambave represents a sub-zone of the Vallée d'Aoste appellation of controlled origin located around the municipality of the same name along the Dora Baltea river, a few kilometres east of the city of Aosta. This area is historically dedicated to Muscat Blanc, an aromatic variety beloanging to the vast Muscat family that is mostly vinified in sweet, sparkling or passito versions, but can also give rise to delicious dry wines as in the case of this label.
Rosset Chambave Muscat is made exclusively from Muscat Blanc grapes from vines over 40 years old rooted on rocky and sandy soils located at an altitude of approximately 800 metres above sea level. Harvesting is carried out by hand at the end of September and the grapes are then transferred to the winery and undergo a short cold pre-fermentation skin maceration. At this point, part of the bunches are pressed and the must thus obtained is transferred into stainless steel tanks for alcoholic fermentation, while the remaining part of the grapes is placed in amphorae where alcoholic fermentation takes place and the wine matures for 6 months on the skins. At the end of the ageing phase, the two masses are blended and after a short period of time the wine is bottled.
To the eye, Muscat Chambave from the Rosset family-run winery has a light straw-yellow colour. The nose is defined by fragrant and intense aromatic scents of white peach, sage, thyme and white flowers, while the palate is fresh and equally aromatic, with an excellent balance of glyceric softness and pleasant savouriness that guide the long fruity and floral finish.
