Sergio Genuardi's Nero d'Avola 'Salgemma' is the first wine from this young and dynamic company from Agrigento. The grapes grow between 540 and 600 metres above sea level on chalky-calcareous soils, rich in rock salt that glows in the sun and gives the wine its name. Part of the wine matures in wood while most of the mass matures in tonneaux. On the nose, it releases intense aromas of ripe red fruits with peppery notes typical of the varietal. it is a fresh wine, capable of ageing for years, with a warm mouthfeel and a pleasant savouriness that lingers over the long sip. Ideal with grilled red meats, game and mature cheeses
