The noble Valentini family, of Spanish origin, has lived in Loreto Aprutino, in the province of Pescara, since the 1600s and is the owner of the vast estate of the same name where, even in those days, wine, oil and wheat were produced. The descendants of the family, in successive eras, have always been involved in the management of the estate, although they have carried out different activities, also holding important positions at local level. It was Edoardo, at the beginning of the 20th century, who personally took charge of the management of the winery; a man of great personality and charisma, he dedicated himself with passion and great skill above all to the production of high quality wines. Today, Edoardo's son Francesco Paolo runs the Valentini winery: a man in love with his work and his wines, he spends most of his time in the vineyard because he says that "...the great work is in the vineyard, in the cellar I do little, I leave the wine the freedom to express itself".

So in the Valentini wine cellar everything has to be done in the most natural way possible, without chemical interventions or the use of selected yeasts, thinking just like the Greek philosopher Socrates: 'I watch and let Mother Nature take her course, everything already exists, you just have to let it emerge'.

The grape varieties cultivated in Valentini's vineyards are Trebbiano, which has existed in this area for more than 1000 years, so much so that Pliny wrote about it in the 'Naturalis Historia', together with Montepulciano. Francesco Paolo is so meticulous and demanding about his wines that if he is not completely satisfied with them, he does not offer whole vintages for sale! In 2012, a sensational event took place: The Trebbiano d' Abruzzo of the Valentini wine cellar won the title of Best Wine of Italy, surpassing other renowned Italian wines, in a competition organised by sommelier Luca Gardini and critic Andrea Grigraffini, with a jury composed of oenologists and distinguished critics from Italy and abroad. A great victory and immense satisfaction for Francesco Paolo, who sees his philosophy of life rewarded in this way!
