Rum Belize 14 Anni Moon Import 2007

Between the tropical climate of Belize and the temperate oceanic climate of Scotland comes Rum Moon Import Belize 14 Anni, a fine, articulate rum produced through the distillation of sugar cane grown in Belize and the subsequent ageing of the distillate in Scotland. It is a Single Barrel rum, i.e. a rum that is the result of a single barrel and therefore retains unique, non-reproducible characteristics. Clearly, the choice of the most suitable and highest quality cask is a key step in the production of this type of rum.
Moon Import Rum Belize 14 Anni is made from sugar cane plants grown in Belize. Once ripe, the plants are cut and pressed, with the resulting liquid undergoing alcoholic fermentation with the help of yeast. Subsequently, the fermented liquid is distilled in Patent Still continuous stills and the subsequent ageing phase lasts for a full 14 years, hence the name, and takes place in oak barrels. The ageing process takes place in Scotland, where the special climatic conditions create an ideal environment for the correct sensory evolution of the rum. In addition, the long and established tradition of whisky ageing specific to the Scots ensures the highest quality control over the product. Finally, at the end of ageing, the rum is bottled and marketed under the Moon Import brand.
Dark amber with brilliant hues is the colour of Belize Moon Import 14 Year Old Rum, which on the nose expresses rich and intense aromas of dates and caramel, supported by delicate roasted notes and fresh floral memories. Warm, ethereal and sophisticated on the palate, characterised by sensations of dark chocolate, cinnamon and chilli pepper.
