Nomades' 'Neva' is an amazing Greek white wine. It comes from the slopes of Mount Kithaironas, which give its name to an increasingly fascinating appellation in Attica. It is made from two iconic Greek grape varieties, Savatiano and Assyrtiko, the authors of this deeply aromatic and saline wine. Hints of grapefruit and honey meet fennel, melon and flint on the nose, an elegant profile heralding an equally intriguing sip, a full expression of the Mediterranean and Greek terroir
Nomades Project's 'Neva' Slopes of Kithaironas is a Greek white wine characterized by fascinating balsamic and mineral perceptions. This label is produced from the combination of two important indigenous varieties of Greece: Savatian and Assyrtiko. The former represents the most widespread variety throughout the country, widely used for the production of Ratsina, a famous wine flavored with resin. As for Assyrtiko, it is one of the highest quality Greek grape varieties, appreciated as much for the organoleptic characteristics of the wines made from it as for its versatility. In fact, Assyrtiko is used both to produce fresh and mineral white wines, sometimes aged in wood, and to make Vin Santo of Santorini.
'Neva' Nomades Slopes of Kithaironas comes from an equivalent blend of Savatiano and Assyrtiko grapes grown in the Kithaironas area, included in the region of Boeotia in Central Greece. Here the vines are bush-trained on soils rich in skeleton and clay, in the classic Mediterranean climate that characterizes the area. In the winery, the grapes first undergo a 24-hour cold pre-fermentation maceration, followed by soft pressing and then alcoholic fermentation of the must in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Also in stainless steel, the wine rests for several months on the fine lees with regular batonnage, until final bottling.
Nomades' Slopes of Kithaironas 'Neva' Greek white wine has a deep straw yellow color. Inviting sensations of apple, citrus, white melon and flowers characterize the olfactory texture along with balsamic puffs and complex hints of honey and flint. In the mouth it is balanced and graceful in its progression, with a pleasant aromatic and very savory, almost brackish finish.
