Spirito Reale's Verdolino di Torino is a liqueur from Turin's late 19th century liquor tradition. The bright green colour enhances the complex aromatic profile. The refreshing notes of peppermint blend with elegant nuances of sage, creating a herbaceous profile with a balsamic finish. An authentic expression of Piedmontese refinement, ideal to enjoy neat or on the rocks.
Verdolino di Torino is a traditional rosolio from the city of Turin with a distinct menthol character, produced by the Piedmontese brand Spirito Reale. Rosolio is a type of liqueur with a Renaissance tradition that is widespread in several Italian regions, especially in Piedmont, Sicily, Campania and Umbria. Its spread is due in particular to monasteries, in which monks dedicated themselves to the preparation of liqueurs by combining alcohol, sugar and various botanicals, of which they were great connoisseurs. Rosolio was then greatly appreciated in the 16th century at the court of Catherine de' Medici, who also exported the liqueur to France. As far as etymology is concerned, the name 'rosolio' derives from the Latin 'ros solis', meaning 'dew of the sun', a probable reference to the luminous hues that often characterise the colour of this liqueur.
Spirito Reale Verdolino di Torino is born from the skilful combination of different ingredients, such as water, alcohol, sugar and natural aromas. The combination of these elements strives for the perfect organoleptic balance, aiming in particular to enhance the refreshing notes of peppermint. The liqueur is finally packaged in an elegant 500 ml bottle.
