WHISKY SINGLE MALT LAPHROAIG 10 ANNI DESCRIPTION
Whisky Single Malt Laphroaig 10 Years is one of the treasures contained in “the beautiful hollow by the broad bay”. This expression is actually the meaning of the Laphroaig distillery’s name, located in the South-West of the Scottish Islay and home to centuries-old craft traditions which continue today. In particular, the recipe of this whisky has remained unchanged from its creation by Ian Hunter, almost 80 years ago. The raw materials are native and of an excellent quality: the water comes from the nearby Kilbridge Dam, while the barley and the peat, which is unique in the world, embellish the spirit with very special aromas, sweet and smoked at the same time, enhanced by a not-chilled filtering. The climate of the island, crossed by winds from the ocean, is mild and oceanic, so that the whisky is kissed both by the rays of sunshine and the drops of rain. The whisky matures in selected oak barrels, which have housed bourbon before. The richness of Islay’s nature can be fully enjoyed in this complex whisky, which is sweet as its barley, smoked as its peat and delicate as the waters of its rivers.
