Champagne Extra Brut 'Cuvée Reserve Essentiel' Piper Heidsieck
"Essentiel" Champagne represents the style and essence of the Piper Heidsieck maison. It is made with an assembly of young wines and reserve wines and aged for at least 4 years in the bottle. Golden in color with delicate perlage, it spreads notes of citrus, apple, dried fruit, mineral notes and hints of pastry. The sip is creamy, round and taut, with a lively and elegant freshness
The Brut Champagne “Cuvée Reserve Essentiel” is a joyful and seductive bubble that authoritatively embodies the style of a historic Maison. We don't often use the word “myth” related to the world of wine, but when talking about Champagne and one of the most prestigious wineries in the region, we think the term is not excessive. Founded in 1785 by Florens-Louis Heidsieck, the Maison was acquired by the industrial group EPI, reaching the current production level of about 6 million bottles produced annually. Despite the vast production range, the liquids produced have never suffered qualitative declines, maintaining very high standards even in the production of entry-level Champagnes. And the beauty in the end is precisely this: to consider the name Piper Heidsieck as a true certainty, uniting last-minute drinkers and long-time enthusiasts. An iconic reality.
The “Cuvée Reserve Essentiel” Brut Champagne is obtained from the classic blend of the region consisting of Pinot Nero, Pinot Meunier, and Chardonnay (partly minority) but with the use of 10-20% reserve wines that give complexity to the liquid. Extra brut of great finesse, after careful blending of the base wines and refermentation in the bottle, it is aged for about 4 years on the lees. After disgorgement, dosage of about 6 g/l.
The Brut “Cuvée Reserve Essentiel” wine fills the glass with its luminous golden hue and fine, persistent perlage. Variegated and multifaceted olfactory impact, which combines a fresh part played on hints of citrus, green apple, and gooseberry, with a softer and enveloping part of toasted fruit and pastry cream. A enveloping, creamy, and very elegant sip, which makes it a delicious and extremely versatile wine. The certainty.
