SAUVIGNON HOFSTATTER 2023 DESCRIPTION

Hofstatter's Sauvignon is a fresh, finely aromatic white with a refined and elegant profile. The nose offers a delicate array of nuances, ranging from gooseberry aromas to white flower scents, from hints of herbs to nuances of flint. The sip shows energetic freshness, with good palatal aromatics, ripe fruit in the center of the mouth and pleasant briskness on the finish. A hymn to the mountains!

Hofstatter's Sauvignon is made on Martin Foradori's new Trentino estate, which is located above Ala and surrounded by a dozen acres of vineyards with great quality potential. It is a Maso with vineyards located at an altitude of more than 800 meters above sea level. The Sauvignon vines are cultivated on mixed soils, with the presence of clay, porphyry, gravel and lime that give natural minerality to the final sip. The cool climate and strong temperature swings between day and night make the grapes ripen very slowly with great enrichment of aromatic finesse. Once the harvest phase is over, maceration on the skins for about 8 hours is followed by a very soft pressing. The must ferments and matures in steel tanks for several months before being released on the market.

Hofstatter's Sauvignon represents a streamlined and refined version of this famous international grape variety, with the typical fresh, mineral profile characteristic of mountain wines. In the glass it has a light yellow color with greenish highlights. The olfactory picture expresses scents of elderberry, nettle, herbs, gooseberry aromas with mineral nuances of flint. On the palate it's vibrant, with rich, intense fruit aromas and a finish of great freshness and persistence.
