Maison Anselmet is a historic name in Valdostan oenology, a winery linked to the territory of Villeneuve, interpreted through a masterful use of vines of Burgundian origin Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, although the Anselmet family does not fail to emphasize native varieties. At the helm of this important family-run business is Giorgio Anselmet, a passionate cellarman, as he likes to be called, who, strengthened by the teachings of Joseph Vaudan, picked up the baton from his father Renato, founder of the estate in the 1970s. The Anselmet winemaking tradition, however, turns out to be much older, dating back to at least the 16th century as evidenced by a document that records Antoine Anselmet's purchase of a vineyard located in the village of Introd. Today Giorgio is supported by his wife Bruna Cavagnet, who is responsible for the agronomic aspect, and their children Henri, Stephanie and Arline.

There are about ten hectares of vines at Maison Anselmet's disposal, spread over more than 60 small plots dedicated both to international varieties such as Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Syrah, Merlot and Rhine Riesling and to local varieties such as Petite Arvine, Muscat Blanc, Petit Rouge, Cornalin, Fumin and Mayolet, grapes rediscovered and strongly valued by the Anselmet family. The vines rest on sandy and loamy soils of morainic origin, at altitudes between 550 and 900 meters above sea level, while in the fight against vine pathogens the principles of integrated pest management are applied, aimed at rationalizing the use of phytosanitary treatments as much as possible. Field work is purely manual, and both stainless steel tanks and French oak barrels of different capacities, aging and toasting are adopted as wine containers.

Those of Maison Anselmet are elegant and refined expressions, always endowed with a sublime balance also thanks to a perfectly dosed imprint of the woods. This is in line with the family's goal of revealing the oenological potential of each sub-area cultivated, adapting the most suitable varietal from time to time.
