The Firriato winery was born in the mid-80s by the passion and ambition of Salvatore Di Gaetano and his wife Vinzia Novara. From the first moment, the production of Firriato is centered on a fundamental principle: the quest for quality. The perfect combination of passion and quality allows Firriato in a few years to become one of the symbols of Sicily, now known and appreciated all over the world. Sicily is a land with undoubted wine potential and contains within it an extraordinary variety of climates and soils, variety is reflected in full in the production of wine. The Nero d'Avola is one of the most popular and well-known Sicilian wines: Firriato produces the harmonium, a Nero d'Avola that, year after year, collecting awards and accolades really important. From Nerello, indigenous grape of Sicily, Etna Rosso is born, another bottle of absolute value, able to give great satisfaction to the patron Di Gaetano. Firriato also produces other red wines of the highest quality, combining in a wise and genuine potential of indigenous varieties (Nero d'Avola, Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio, Frappato) at a weighted use of international varieties. Even white wines deserve absolute consideration: Cataratto and Grillo are two very good choices to discover the diverse world of Sicilian wine.
