The Rioja Selección represents the flagship of the production of the Spanish artisanal reality Señorio de Librares, capable of enchanting the senses with its elegance and expressive richness. The small winery Señorio de Librares exclusively works with grapes from its own vineyards through a sustainable and genuine agronomic and winemaking approach. Among the wines made by the winery, the Rioja Selección is the one that most reflects the experience and know-how of the Espinosa family, a family that for over 150 years, from generation to generation, has passed down winemaking knowledge, nourishing the tradition of Rioja Baja.
Señorio de Librares Selección Rioja consists of a blend of Tempranillo (80%) and Graciano (20%) grapes from vines over 40 years old, grown with respect for the plants, the soil, and the environment in general, without the use of pesticides and chemical herbicides. After harvesting, the clusters are vinified red through alcoholic fermentation in contact with the skins for 10-15 days at controlled temperature and subsequent malolactic fermentation in fine-grained oak vats. Subsequently, the wine is aged in new French oak barrels for several months on fine lees and then for a further period in barrels of 3-4 years. Bottling follows without any invasive treatment.
The color of the Rioja Selección from the Señorio de Librares winery is intense ruby red with purple hues. The broad olfactory panorama is described by vivid aromas of red fruits in jam, licorice, dark chocolate, and tobacco that meet deep and sweet perceptions of coconut, vanilla, and caramel. On the palate, it is rich, powerful, and enveloping, with a full body and a tasty tannic texture resting on persistent roasted and ripe fruit sensations.
