La Possessione del Console is a still red wine that conquers for the intensity of the aromas and for the enveloping and fresh texture. It is soft, juicy and rich in fruit, with pleasant spicy hints that intertwine with notes of small red fruit
Fratelli Agnes 'Possessione del Console' is a full-bodied red wine with character, the result of an authentic and genuine production approach. For over a century, the Agnes family has dedicated itself to wine production in Rovescala, in the Oltrepò Pavese area. In this area, Cristiano and Sergio Agnes, currently at the helm of the estate, breed almost exclusively Bonarda, the local name for the Croatina vine, proposed in different styles all sharing a remarkable expressive purity. In certain parcels there is also an ancient and rare clone called Pignolo because of the characteristic narrow and tight shape of the bunches.
Fratelli Agnes' 'Possessione del Console' is produced from red grapes grown without the use of synthetic chemical substances, with the utmost respect for the environment and the healthiness of the wine. The vineyard, consisting of very old vines, is located on a high, west-facing hill ridge. In the cellar, the grapes are vinified between steel and vitrified cement tanks, with alcoholic fermentation entrusted exclusively to the yeasts present on the grapes and in the cellar environment. Throughout the entire process, the mass is not subjected to any filtering operation.
The red wine 'Possessione del Console' from the Lombardy winery Fratelli Agnes has a dark, consistent purple colour. The nose is rich and fruity in its aromas of blackberry, blueberry and currant, adorned with hints of clove and balsamic herbs. Soft, warm and juicy on the palate, with an agile and balanced freshness and delicate tannin. The finish insists on marked fruity and balsamic sensations that make this wine an excellent accompaniment to grilled meats or structured first courses.
