SCHIOPPETTINO BRESSAN 2018 DESCRIPTION

Bressan's Schioppettino is undoubtedly an unforgettable and scoring red by virtue of an aromaticity arrembant combined with the makings of an outlier. Histrionic Fulvio Bressan is a producer among the most talked about for his decisive and clear-cut stances, but at the same time a master of the vineyard and a profound connoisseur of everything that concerns the world of wine, and in particular of what is important to obtain extraordinary liquids such as his. Talking with Fulvio about wine is as much a learning experience as tasting one of his bottles, as it is fundamental to fixing such indispensable concepts as the degree of ripeness of the grapes, the rejection of chemicals that compromise the natural environmental balance, the maintenance of low yields and much more. Needless to say, the liquids bottled by Fulvio in Farra d'Isonzo are one better than the other, but above all, they are endowed with a tilting pride of expression. A true example of uniqueness.

Bressan Schioppettino is made from pure grapes of the variety of the same name grown in Farra d'Isonzo from vines more than 30 years old, resting on soil rich in the skeleton and iron oxides. In the vineyard, where nothing but a little copper and sulfur is used, the grapes are harvested slightly late in the harvest and brought to the winery to undergo a slow fermentation in steel for at least 35 days. The liquid ages for at least 12 months in oak barrels.

The Schioppettino wine presents itself in the glass in a ruby red guise that veers toward garnet. Nose lysergic and frankly irrepressible, a veritable cauldron puffing out whiffs of black pepper, tomato, ripe cherry, and earth in a continuous and dynamic evolution. The sip is no less impactful, endowed with a filling and velvety tactility and a persistence unquantifiable by the usual parameters. Entraining experience.
