Montepulciano wine
Montepulciano wine is the enological protagonist of central-southern Italy, produced from one of the most famous and widespread red grapes of the peninsula. Almost certainly originating in the Abruzzo region, over the centuries the vine has also spread to Molise, Umbria and the southern Marche regions. Here it has enjoyed great success and produces generous, structured reds, included in various territorial denominations, such as Offida, Rosso Conero and Rosso Piceno. While historically this type of wine was known for its rustic and textured character, today the best producers have learnt to make the most of the potential of the vine in relation to the characteristics of the territory, combining the important structure and dense tannins with an elegant aromatic breadth, featuring notes of ripe red fruit, morello cherries and spices.
Still red artisanal and organic, full-bodied and fairly intense, produced with native yeasts, matured only in barrels, perfect for drinking with mature cheeses, game, pasta with meat sauce and simmered white meat
