AMARONE DELLA VALPOLICELLA RISERVA 'DECEM' PIETRO ZARDINI 2012 DESCRIPTION

In the heart of the magnificent Valpolicella, among ancient lands and centuries-old traditions, lies an unparalleled oenological treasure: the Amarone della Valpolicella Riserva 'Decem' by Pietro Zardini. This extraordinary wine is the flagship of the winery, the result of a passion handed down from generation to generation. The label itself tells a story of mastery and dedication, as "Decem", the name of this Amarone, evokes the ten long years of aging that give it an intense and exceptional character.

In the territory of Valpolicella, where the soil is rich in limestone marl and basalt, the grapes destined to become the pulsating heart of 'Decem' Amarone Riserva from the Pietro Zardini cellar are cultivated. Here, among the most suitable vineyards, Corvina, Rondinella, Molinara, and Croatina thrive, carefully selected varieties to create a blend of extraordinary complexity with the best grapes from the finest vintages. The natural drying of the grapes for about four months is followed by traditional fermentation on the skins, a ritual passed down for centuries, ensuring an Amarone with an authentic soul. After this phase, the wine matures for three years in amphorae, three years in oak barrels, and another three years in barriques before resting in the bottle for an additional year. It is a long and meticulous process, but the result is a wine that embodies the quintessence of Valpolicella.

'Decem' Amarone della Valpolicella Riserva by Pietro Zardini presents itself in the glass with an intense ruby red color, shaded with garnet reflections, foreshadowing a bouquet that captivates the senses with notes of ripe fruit, coffee, cocoa, and spices. On the palate, it reveals all its complexity: structured, warm, and harmonious, with a persistent aftertaste reminiscent of fine wood and amphorae. This wine is a true treasure to be cherished, an ideal companion for special evenings or moments of reflection. Best enjoyed at a temperature of 18°C, perhaps accompanied by succulent red meats or flavorful cheeses, or simply on its own, to be enveloped in a timeless sensory experience. Amarone della Valpolicella Riserva 'Decem' by Pietro Zardini: a journey into the heart of Italian oenological tradition, an emotion to savor in every sip.
