CHAMPAGNE EXTRA BRUT GRAND CRU 'LYDIEN 62' STEPHANE REGNAULT DESCRIPTION

Champagne 'Lydien 62' Grand Cru Extra Brut from vigneron Stephane Regnault is a joyful and expressive bubble, produced in the Côte des Blancs according to an artisanal and sustainable vision. In addition to being a skilled winemaker, Stephane is a saxophonist with a strong passion for jazz music, so he has chosen to name his cuvees after different musical modes. Of these, the Lydian mode is one of the most important in Jazz and has influenced legendary artists such as Miles Davis and John Coltrane.
Stephane Regnault Champagne Extra Brut Grand Cru 'Lydien 62' is a pure Chardonnay from a south-facing plot rooted in chalky soils. The vineyard is located within the lieu-dit of Le Chemin de Flavigny, in the Grand Cru village of Oger, and is cultivated in a highly sustainable manner. In the cellar, the grapes are vinified in white with spontaneous alcoholic fermentation half in barriques and the remaining half in steel. After complete malolactic fermentation and a short resting period, the mass is blended and added with 20% vin de reserve before being bottled according to the Champenoise Method. Maturation on the lees in glass lasts for at least 36 months, at the end of which the wine is degorgement and dosage Extra Brut.
To the eye, Stephane Regnault's Champagne Grand Cru 'Lydien 62' Extra Brut shows a straw-yellow colour with brilliant reflections and subtle effervescence. Refined and graceful is the aromatic bouquet, described by scents of green apple, pear, white flowers and citrus peel that meet mineral and small pastry nuances. Fresh and forthright on the palate, with an evocative mineral progression that is accompanied by a very fine and pleasant perlage.
