Musso's Langhe Chardonnay constitutes a fresh and fragrant interpretation of one of the world's most celebrated grape varieties, grown in virtually every wine-growing area on the globe because of its prized oenological and organoleptic characteristics. Although the production of the Langhe-based Musso winery focuses on native grape varieties, Chardonnay is an exception. The link between this variety and Piedmont is far older than one might think, dating back to roughly the mid-1800s when it was introduced to the region by the Savoy family because of their strong relationship with France.

Musso Langhe Chardonnay comes from the pure variety of the same name bred on predominantly calcareous-clay soils endowed with good organic matter. The exposure of the rows ranges from west to southwest, and the vines are at an altitude of 230 to 270 meters above sea level. Following manual harvesting, the clusters are softly pressed, with the resulting must left for several hours in contact with the skins. The ensuing alcoholic fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, followed by the aging phase of about 5 months on the lees, also in stainless steel.

Intense straw yellow is the hue of Langhe Chardonnay from the Musso estate, marked by fresh aromas of green apple, sage and citrus peel that blend with floral notes, hints of anise and a pleasant mineral vein. Dry and intense on the palate, where the agile freshness and marked savory timbre guide the epilogue of excellent persistence. This is a Chardonnay of excellent versatility in food-wine pairing since it can accompany appetizers, first and second courses of various kinds, both sea and land.
