Champagne Extra Brut Grand Cru 'L'Angelique' Mouzon Leroux 2016

Mouzon Leroux

Champagne Extra Brut Grand Cru 'L'Angelique' Mouzon Leroux is exactly what one would expect from such an angelic name: a fine, pure, luminous and ethereal Champagne. Characterized by a fine, persistent perlage and delicate notes of white flowers and citrus zest on the nose, its great refinement goes well with fresh fish dishes or vegetarian appetizers that do not overpower the wine's freshness

CHAMPAGNE EXTRA BRUT GRAND CRU 'L'ANGELIQUE' MOUZON LEROUX 2016 DESCRIPTION

With its graceful and refined style, at once rich and complex, Mouzon Leroux's Extra Brut Grand Cru Champagne 'L'Angelique' is capable of enrapturing the senses from the first taste. The label's very name emphasizes its angelic character: 'pure, graceful and ethereal'. The Mouzon Leroux estate has about 10 hectares of vineyards, 8 of them in the village of Verzy alone, from which the grapes destined for this bottle come. All of winemaker Sebastien Mouzon's efforts are directed in imprinting the spirit of the terroir into the wines, while safeguarding the balances of nature.

'L'Angelique' Mouzon Leroux Champagne Grand Cru Extra Brut is produced from only Chardonnay grapes grown according to the principles of organic and biodynamic agriculture within the Grand Cru village of Verzy, in the Montagne de Reims area. The single vintage clusters are vinified in oak barrels with spontaneous alcoholic and malolactic fermentation, excluding the use of invasive operations. After a few months of maturation on fine lees, the liquid is placed in the bottle and liqueur de tirage added for refermentation in the bottle according to the Champenoise Method. Maturation on the lees in glass lasts for 54 months, and the wine is finally subjected to degorgement and topped up without dosage.

The Champagne Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru 'L'Angelique' Extra Brut from the Mouzon Leroux winery has a pale straw yellow color with fine, persistent bubbles. The aromatic range opens on perceptions of citrus and white flowers, soon joined by delicate mineral notes and hints of dried fruit. Soft and deep on the palate, at the same time fresh and delicate, with a creamy effervescence that contributes to the overall feeling of fullness.
