Bianco 'Muzsla' Bott Frigyes 2020

Bianco 'Muzsla' Bott Frigyes 2020

Bott Frigyes

White 'Muzsla' from Bott Frigyes winery is a white wine made from a blend of Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Blanc, vines grown in the hills of the municipality of Muzla, on the Slovak-Hungarian border. After a long rest on the lees in used barriques, the wine is bottled without filtration or clarification to maintain its genuine and spontaneous character. With a broad and fresh sip, characterized by a distinct acidity and slightly smoky notes that return to the nose, this wine tells of an incredibly interesting small wine-growing area, waiting to be discovered!

BIANCO 'MUZSLA' BOTT FRIGYES 2020 DESCRIPTION

Bott Frigyes White 'Muszla' is a bottle from Slovakia produced in the hills of the Muszla wine-growing area, hence the name, according to a genuinely artisanal production vision. In addition to a number of local varieties, the Bott Frigyes winery breeds in accordance with biodynamics the allochthonous Rhine Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Blanc, the grape varieties behind this label that have shown excellent adaptation to the volcanic matrix of the area.

'Muszla' Bott Frigyes Bianco consists of a blend of Rhine Riesling (50 percent), Sauvignon Blanc (25 percent) and Pinot Blanc (25 percent), varieties grown following the dictates of biodynamic agriculture on clay soils of volcanic origin, rich in minerals. The vineyards face the Danube and are located at an altitude of 250 meters above sea level. In the winery, the so-called "Hamburger method" is adopted, which consists of alternating layers of whole bunches pounded with feet, whole intact bunches and destemmed grapes, all left to ferment spontaneously for 6 days in open tanks. Once the fermentation process is finished, the wine spends more than 10 months maturing in neutral oak barrels on fine lees and is finally bottled without undergoing any filtration or clarification.

The 'Muszla' White from Slovak winery Bott Frigyes has a straw-yellow color with golden highlights. The aromatic array consists of fruity hints of pear and yellow plum, combined with balsamic sensations of anise and eucalyptus, hints of black pepper and smoky notes. The complex and structured sip is endowed with a full body and bright freshness, as well as a savory and mineral finish. Overall, the ability of this artisanal wine to combine structure and smoothness is surprising.
