Kristinus' Orange 'Liquid Sundowner' is a wine with a soft orange color, reminiscent, as the name suggests, of the color of the sky when the sun sets at the horizon. Fresh, juicy and supported by a buoyant acidity, this wine ages partly in wood and partly in amphorae and is made from a blend of grapes from vines grown following biodynamic principles. A wine that, with its mineral and citrus profile, pairs perfectly with fried fish or delicate vegetarian dishes

The Hungarian Kristinus estate presents Orange 'Liquid Sundowner', a complex and structured macerated white wine from a genuine and non-interventionist production vision. The appellation 'Liquid Sundowner', literally 'liquid sunset', was chosen to highlight how this bottle is perfect for drinking in the late afternoon during sunset, amidst the colours of the sky that recall those of the wine. The winery is located in the area of Lake Balaton, the largest lake in Central Europe, enhanced through the use of traditional varieties and embracing the dictates of biodynamics.
The Kristinus winery's Orange 'Liquid Sundowner' consists of a blend of Tramini, Olaszrizling (the local name for Italian Riesling), Szürkebarat and Chardonnay grapes. Agronomic management follows the principles of organic and biodynamic agriculture and once ripe, the grapes are harvested by hand and then transferred to the cellar for spontaneous alcoholic fermentation with maceration on the skins. Ageing takes place on the fine lees, partly in amphorae and partly in large used oak casks, where the liquid stays for several months before bottling, which takes place without any filtration.
The 'Liquid Sundowner' Kristinus Orange has a fascinating orange colour with light nuances. Wide and varied aromas of citrus peel, eucalyptus and wild flowers overlap on the nose together with hints of ripe peach and honey. In the mouth, it is striking for its decisive and persistent freshness that balances the important structure and slight tannic sensation. The finish is juicy and fruity, with remarkable sapidity. The winemaker's advice is to serve this orange wine at a temperature of 12 °C in the company of friends, taking care to shake the bottle to release the natural sediment.
