Whisky Single Malt Mortlach 10 yo Artist Collective 2012

Artist Collective

The Whisky Single Malt Mortlach 10 yo Artist Collective 2012 is a whisky aged for ten years, finished in first-fill sherry casks, which give it depth and complexity. A rich and seductive first impression, which gradually gives hints of leather followed by dried fruit and cocoa. The palate is persistent with flavors that linger and evolve throughout the sip, letting the sherry influence shine through.

WHISKY SINGLE MALT MORTLACH 10 YO ARTIST COLLECTIVE 2012 DESCRIPTION

With its mouth-watering fruity style, Mortlach Artist Collective Single Malt 10 Years Old Scotch Whisky can delight the senses when consumed neat at the end of a meal or as a fine base for delicious cocktails such as Whisky Sour. This distillate is part of the Artist Collective selection, created by the French brand La Maison du Whisky in collaboration with historic Scottish distilleries such as Mortlach, founded in 1823 on the site of an illegal distillery. Performing a triple partial distillation and employing a traditional condensation system called 'Worm Tube', Mortlach produces very delicate and pleasant whiskies. Today, the distillery belongs to the large Diageo group, which owns many important production companies in Scotland and beyond.
The Single Malt Whisky 10 Years Old Mortlach Artist Collective comes from only barley malt processed in the Strathspey region. In accordance with tradition, the barley grains are subjected to the malting process in order to promote the sprouting of the grain and thus the breakdown of the starch into simple sugars. These sugars are subsequently metabolised by yeasts during the alcoholic fermentation, after which the distillation phase is carried out in discontinuous stills. The ensuing ageing process takes place in oak casks, with finishing taking place in ex-sherry casks, for a total duration of 10 years. The whisky is finally bottled and labelled with a minimalist illustration by artist Yanis Khannoussi.
Mortlach Artist Collective Whisky Single Malt 10 Years Old has a deep amber colour. The nose has pleasant fruity aromas, surrounded by more complex notes of leather, tobacco, spices, coffee, cocoa and dried fruit. In the mouth it is rich, deep and complex, with a seductive savoury vein on the finish.
