Château Palmer is located in Margaux, in one of the most famous and prestigious areas of the Médoc. The origins of the domaine date back to the early 19th century, when Charles Palmer bought the estate from Madame Marie Brunet de Ferrière, widow de Gascq, becoming the owner of one of the most prestigious estates in the region, which was already then famous for the extraordinary quality of its wines. Within a few decades, Charles Palmer worked hard to modernize facilities, winery and acquire new land. Amidst changes of ownership, wars and various vicissitudes, Château Palmer has come down to the present day, preserving its charm intact and establishing itself throughout the twentieth century among the best Grand Crus in Bordeaux.

The domaine covers 66 hectares, located in the heart of the Appellation Margaux, in a beautiful location overlooking the Gironde estuary. The land consists of the terraces of ancient alluvial deposits created by the Garonne and Dordogne rivers over millennia. These soils consist of gravels that are very draining and poor in organic matter, resting on deeper substrates of predominantly clay matrix, capable of retaining water and providing water reserves even during dry periods. The climate is mitigated by the presence of the Gironde estuary and the Atlantic Ocean, which, with its breezes, also ensures constant ventilation. In these special soil and climate conditions, red grape varieties express themselves at excellent levels of quality, particularly Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot, which form the basis of Château Palmer's blends.

The domaine's philosophy has always been oriented toward respect for the traditions of the terroir, with the sole objective of creating great wines that live up to the reputation of an Appellation as prestigious as Margaux. Its wines are the result of a profound knowledge of the characteristics of the terroir and an ancient savoir-faire, which translate into a style devoted to elegance and expressive finesse. The utmost attention is paid to the care of the vineyard, which is managed in perfect harmony with the environmental context, in an effort to preserve natural biodiversity. The vinifications carried out in a delicate manner and with full respect for the varietal characteristics of the grapes, allow us to obtain wines with a harmonious and refined character, which are then aged in noble woods, carefully selected to enhance the evolution of the aromas.
