That of Lantieri de Paratico is an ancient wine history made of noble prestige, culminating in the 1970s with the production of Metodo Classico sparkling wines in Franciacorta. In fact, the Lantieri de Paratico are a noble Brescian family present in the Franciacorta area since at least 930 AD, as evidenced by some documents. The aristocratic suffix "de Paratico" highlights their previous settlement in the town of Paratico, located at the southern end of Lake Iseo, a place where in the 11th century the family had their castle built, where over time Dante Alighieri also stayed. Beginning in the 1500s, the family moved to Capriolo, the site of today's winery, beginning the production of high quality wines, appreciated even by the Gonzagas, who had them served at their court in Mantua. In 1970 Giancarlo Lantieri, strengthened by the advice of oenologist Cesare Ferrari, was among the very first to undertake the production of Metodo Classico sparkling wines in the area, configuring himself among the pioneers of modern Franciacorta. Today the estate is divided into a historic structure with old cellars and a modern one, equipped with state-of-the-art technology for the winemaking process.

The Lantieri de Paratico family manages 25 hectares of estate vineyards located between the towns of Capriolo and Adro, which are conducted entirely under a certified organic system. The vineyards are mainly dedicated to the traditional grapes of the Franciacorta area, namely Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Blanc. In addition to these varieties, which are intended for sparkling wine production, the estate raises Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Barbera and Nebbiolo grapes used for still wines. The soils of morainic origin on which the vines grow are characterized by an abundant presence of clay, limestone and silicon, a factor behind the refined mineral vein of the wines. In the winery, the sparkling wine bases are processed in stainless steel tanks and oak barriques, always seeking a balance between body and freshness, with the subsequent mousse taking place in the bottle according to the Metodo Classico.

Franciacorta wines from the Lantieri de Paratico winery faithfully reflect the creamy and mineral character of the appellation, while also being appreciated for their balanced yet complex style.
