The Tenuta Lenzini winery is a biodynamic producer located in the hills of Lucca, in the locality of Gragnano, and is managed by Benedetta Tronci and Michele Guarino. Their adventure began in 2007, when Benedetta inherited the family farm from her grandfather Franco Lenzini and began a conversion to biodynamic agriculture. Her aim was to consistently practice a production philosophy in which "the impact of man becomes non-existent and where nature takes form and substance".

Tenuta Lenzini consists of 22 hectares of land surrounding the manor house, with densely planted, amphitheatre-shaped vineyards extending over a total of 13 hectares. This property has an ancient history dating back to the 16th century, when it was owned by the Arnolfini couple, who were famous for being portrayed in the famous Van Eyck painting. The varieties grown are mostly international, with Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Franc and Cabernt Sauvignon leading the way, followed by Vermentino and Sauvignon. The vineyard is not fertilised and, in keeping with the biodynamic approach, treatments are limited to copper and sulphur in very small quantities and vegetable preparations. In the cellar, fermentation takes place spontaneously with indigenous yeasts, the use of sulphites is limited to what is strictly necessary and the wines are aged in steel, cement or old barrels.

The wines of Tenuta Lenzini are the result of a simple and clear equation that guides all production processes: grape = wine. They are territorial and distinctive expressions of identity, which Benedetta and Michele want to be "easily understandable", or in other words, clearly identifiable with the characteristics of the land and the soil. This approach is described by the couple as "reasoned viticulture" or "emotional enology", and translates into a production philosophy that aims to enhance the characteristics of the terroir instead of the winemaker's style. Authenticity, truth and a passion for nature are the key words behind a truly interesting production that is making a lot of waves and gaining great acclaim from critics and enthusiasts alike.
